Happy to Tell You that Our 12-day Trip will Resume Next Year!

We are very pleased to announce that from January 2025 it will be possible to do the 12 day trip Brownsberg and Raleighfalls tour again.
From 5 to 9 September 2024 Ralf and Ashraf visited Raleighfalls for birdwatching and hiking with a group of 7 tourists. This trip was very successful concerning birds. Highlights of this trip were: Blue-throated Piping-Guan, Harpy Eagle, Gray-winged Trumpeter, Cliff Flycatcher, Boat-Billed Tody-Tyrant and Band-tailed Antshrike.

During this visit they have noticed a lot of changes mainly to the facilities that used to be well maintained by Stinasu. These facilities are not in good state anymore and the only lodge that can be used for overnighting is Tamandua. This lodge consist of 8 bunkbeds, there is a shower and toilet 5 meters from this lodge. At the Voltzberg base camp the situation is about the same, there is a building that consist of 6 rooms, each room has space for 2 hammock. The shower and toilet can be used easily during the rainy season, during the dry season the tanks are not filled so you will have to use the creek that is about 20 meters from the building to freshen up.
The airstrip is still a fantastic place for birdwatching however it is not possible any more to fly to and from Paramaribo. This means all off the travelling to get to Foengoe island will be done by car and boat.

We recommend this trip to tourist that have already done the standard 15 day tour with us but want to experience more of Suriname nature, so if you can adapt to a few days in nature join us on this fantastic trip !
